Dr. Suckeveriene is Head of the Water Industry Engineering Department and group leader of the Polymers, Composites, and Nanocomposites Laboratory at Kinneret Academic College, which specializes in the preparation and characterization of these innovative materials.
He is also the CTO of the Kinneret Innovation Center (KIC), and the CTO of the CaleeTech diabetic glucose-barrier startup. He is a leading researcher in the field of active, functional materials and nanomaterials. He has vast experience in chemical engineering and processes, a wide range of polymerization techniques, compounding equipment (batch and continuous techniques), multi-functional materials, anti-bacterial and anti-viral materials, morphology characterization (SEM, HRSEM) and polymer characterization methods such as TGA, DSC, rotational and capillary rheology, Instron, DMTA, electrical measurements, and others.
Ran has mentored and advised several startups and has been awarded prestigious grants and scholarships. He also teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Suckeveriene leads the only Water Industry Engineering department in Israel, one of whose aims is to educate the next generations of water engineers to cope with today’s and tomorrow’s environmental and sustainability issues.
